Good action
story about the search for WMD's
Ken Floyd’s
novel “The Painted Man” combines the best of a good action-adventure story
with the pitfalls of casual editing.
Set in Baghdad in April 2003 as the Americans were beginning their search
for WMD’s, Floyd’s interesting book pursues the idea that WMD’s did exist,
and that Saddam had developed a plan in order to pass them to various
insurgent groups should he be deposed.
Floyd‘s cast of characters includes the CIA, the President, and various
regular army and Special Forces sorts in a race against time to find where
and who has the key to Saddam’s WMD’s.
A good read, Floyd is to be commended on an interesting and entertaining
initial literary effort, and here’s hoping that with closer attention to
technical details, he’ll write another.
