George Powers has written a fine book about his journey through life. This is not just a book about his military journey, but also his journey to  find his own redemption and meaning to his life. He is able to describe incidents in his life that lead to the  realization that it was more important for him to become a Private in the Lord’s Army rather than  climb the ladder and become a General Officer in the U.S. Army. Make no mistake, however, his description of his tour of duty in Vietnam is detailed and hard hitting. This is the spiritual growth of a committed leader and soldier.

There are 31 pages of personal photos of his time in Vietnam and also his family, which add a great deal to the feel of the book.

Highly recommend this uplifting and educational journey from his personal bondage to his salvation.
