Epic Tale From The Times When There
really Was a British Empire
Few writers have the sensitivity and
skills to pull off such an epic story in their first novel. However,
“Samsara Moon” takes readers on a journey where real men become
heroes in a time and place that no longer exists except in the creative
minds of talented authors like S. H. Post. Truly a fascinating debut novel
and it reminds one of those classic American writers like F. Scott
Fitzgerald although their choices of subjects could not be further apart.
This book has the feel of being a literary classic even though it has been
written in 2006.
The characters are strong and noble and
honorable. The plot is engaging and at times a very good historical look
back at a culture that has long since died. Post talks about places that I
have been to and know well and he makes them come alive as they once were in
the British Empire. The mountains of India most especially are captured with
the word created photographic images of the writer’s mind. I can see and
feel the emotions and the places of his hero’s journey. The author creates
an atmosphere that feels like you are wearing a pith helmet and are working
for God and the Queen. This book is everything you could ask for in a great
novel including tragedy, inspiration, valor, redemption, romance and a very
satisfying ending.
Post has established himself as a
talented and creative novelist with his first book. One can only image that
huge success will follow Post as his work is recognized and discovered by
the media. Readers will not be disappointed and will be find it
entertaining. It is a page turner; so do not expect to get much sleep until
you finish the entire story.
This book gets the MWSA’s top
rating of FIVE STARS.
