WWII Submarine Thriller From Steve
Wilson
This book has one of those stories that
take history for a ride with alternate imaginary, historic events and
possible endings. Author Steven Wilson does a great job of selling this
story line to the reader in his newest novel called “Between The Hunters
And The Hunted.” It is a thriller with lots of action but it is also has
a cerebral plot that was well thought out.
The author makes his story very plausible
and believable and more importantly, he makes it entertaining. This is the
kind of tale that would make a good action movie. For lovers of naval
adventures and submarines at war this book has all you could ask for. The
author does a first rate job with his characters and the dialogs. This is
the kind of book that you will not want to put down until you have read the
last page.

Synopsis (taken from the
book):
In the early days of WWII Great
Britain is fighting for its life. With the Nazi Luftwaffe and U-Boat
wolfpacks bearing down, they’ve never needed America more. In secret,
Winston Churchill travels by sea to Newfoundland to meet with President
Franklin D. Roosevelt.
When the Nazis learn of the
meeting, they deploy their greatest weapon—the Sea Lion, a juggernaut even
more dangerous than the sunken Bismarck. Its sole mission—track and
destroy Churchill’s convoy. But in the prime minister’s protective naval
cordon is the HMN Firedancer, commanded by Captain George Hardy. A
veteran of too many hard-fought battles, Hardy struggles to balance duty and
honor against the destruction he has wrought in the service of his country.
But his most daunting task is still to come.
Now, in the merciless North
Atlantic, the pride of the Nazi fleet will confront the defiant might of the
Allies—with the fate of the war lying in the hands of the victor…
The fate of the Allies rests in
the hands of eccentric British Navy Captain George Hardy. Regarded as a
madman by some, and viewed as a genius in naval warfare by those who serve
with him, Hardy leads his ragtag fleet of warships into a deadly match of
wits and wills against the determined Kern and his untested U-boats. Under
cover of the ocean, the deadliest of enemies are about to engage their final
battle. |
