One of the struggles often
faced by writers who self publish or choose a publishing house that doesn't
offer any promotional assistance, is marketing your book. Many of our
members have approached Bill or myself with this very concern. MWSA
has made a commitment to bring you marketing tools or programs that are
worthwhile and actually make a difference. In honoring that
commitment, I would like to introduce Penny Sansevieri.
I originally met Penny in 2004
at a marketing and publishing seminar she offers through The Learning Annex.
My husband's book had just been published and even though we had an agent
and a plan, we were looking for clarity and direction in the marketing
arena. Her seminar opened up a world of opportunity and ideas for
creative marketing, and definitely confirmed that we were heading in the
right direction. While the seminar was encouraging and extremely
informative, it didn't allow for serious one-on-one focus on our book.
I took advantage of a personal consultation with Penny where she sat with
both Jeff and I, and not only offered some additional marketing ideas, but
also gave us leads on places to market that were specific to our target
audience. Penny helped us identify new ways to market our book, but
more importantly she taught us to think like marketers so that we could
continue to develop strategies for promoting the book on our own.
Penny offers programs that
range from free ezine newsletters to custom tailored programs to fit any
budget.
This page will highlight some
of Penny's marketing tips and tools. I hope you will all take time to
read through these pages and take advantage of her services.
