TAG
It’s down there somewhere,
sliding through the depths
like a shadow of black steel.
We feint and parry,
a soundless contest
where silence equals life.
Our screens flicker green in the darkness,
geometries of survival and destruction
spelled out in bright smears of light.
This is the slow war,
cold and creeping,
a deadly game of tag.
One mistake and everything changes,
silence and cold
transformed to blood and fire.
We wait. And we listen. And we wait.
Somewhere below us,
The shadow is waiting too. |
