One Quiet Morn
I can’t believe all I see
A radiant sunrise
Cascading o’er me,
For the morn is quiet
No sounds of war
As peaceful a day
As those of yore,
At home in the mountains
Where blue birds sing
Far away from this land
Of battle and fighting,
Ah tis’ so serene this day
I feel that God has been this way
And using his might
Stayed the death and lifted
The night,
So I could feel no terror, no fear
Giving me one morning of peace
The while I’m here.
