Old Vets Playing Music that
captures the Nam Experience
I have listened to the music CD
“It’s Just A Nam Thing” off and on for a couple of years and it is just
as edgy and poetic today as it was the first time I listen to those tracks.
The words which are printed inside the cover—are pure poetry. Songs such as
“Just An Old Viet Vet” grab you not only with the words but with the tune
itself.
There is a haunting harmonica
that can be heard in the background on some songs that combines with the
rhythm of acoustic and electric guitars and the energized pounding of Tab
Warwick’s drums that gives this group a signature style. There is a rock
piece called “My Sixties” that I particularly enjoyed. Meaningful lyrics
with a music score that keeps you emotionally hooked on the message of the
song.
This music CD is as moving as it
is entertaining. It is message filled at times with songs like “The Corps”
but when you hear it you will not mind. This is good edgy rock and roll with
a little country blues and folk music thrown in—at times, it sounds almost
southern in a very good way. I enjoyed it and recommend it highly. Go to
their website and
