GREAT FOLK TUNES FOR
VETERANS!!!
The first time I was lucky
enough to meet Linda and Janie in person was during the filming of
the documentary “In The Shadow of The Blade” in 2002 in Florida. We picked
them up from one airfield and dropped them off at a veteran reunion at
another. It was like a flashback to the 1960’s when they were both in
Vietnam with the USO doing shows.
They sang folk ballads to me
while sitting in the back of our Huey helicopter as we flew over Florida. We
captured some of their singing on film and used a part of their music for
our song track. So when I sit down to listen to their CD called “In
Spirit at the Wall” I cannot help but get excited. Their songs are so
fresh and full of energy. Each one is an original folk song that has moving
lyrics and a catchy tune. Some songs like “Only The Name” about the
names on “The Wall”, catches your heart and takes your breath away with its
poetic tribute to those gave their lives in Vietnam.
This is a great music CD and I
strongly recommend that you purchase a copy for your own. It can be listened
to it over and over again. Their voices are like those of angels and their
music only adds to the presentation.
The MWSA gives this CD its
highest rating – 5 STARS.
