Dad's Navy Angel Friends
I watched them as they raised the flag,
On the corner of our square.
It seems so different every year,
With fewer people there.
Most of them were navy men,
Now heaven gives them rest.
All the sailors from our town,
Have done their very best.
When I looked above the flag,
Way up in the sky,
I froze as I was standing there.
At the sight that caught my eye.
Hundreds of them floating there,
Angels in pure white.
In the brightest corner I saw dad,
Oh! What an awesome sight!
My dad was in his uniform,
A navy man so proud.
I cried and knew he heard me say,
I love you dad out loud!
He said I'm with my navy friends,
His voice rang through the sky.
Then I saw the angels there,
All waving me goodbye!
